I have become obsessed with lipstick. I’m not kidding you now. That’s all I want to do. Smudge on even more color. It’s something that feels so festive with a pair of red lips. Sometimes even lipstick can be the only makeup I use in a day. I know, mischievous!

Here are my 4 steps that I came to after a lot of trial and error (hello lipstick on the whole chin after eating lunch) that the lipstick actually sits in place.

1. Make sure your lips are dry before applying your lips and lipsticks. If your lips need to be moisturized make sure to lubricate them with a good margin before it’s time for the makeup. Otherwise, the lip color will have nothing to attach to.

2. Don’t mess with your lipstick! A lipstick is the basis for the lip color to remain so don’t skip it. You don’t have to go and buy a pen that matches every lipstick you want without buying a color that is as close to your natural lip color as possible. Personally, I like a lipstick that is a bit drier.

3 and 4. Steps 3 and 4 are actually together I discovered now. In all cases. Step 3 Apply your lipstick. Then take a piece of paper and dutt over the lips to remove any color that had disappeared quickly. Then it’s time for my own little special step: powder. I take some transparent powder on my finger and dab over my lips. But does it work well only if the lipstick is dull? Nope! After you put your layer of powder on you apply your lipstick again. Now the color will sit like the mountain!
